Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa. Mt Kenya has  over 25 lakes, the 5 largest being Lake Alice, covering 48 acres; Lake Michaelson on 30 acres; Lake Ellis on 28 acres; Lake Rutundu on 25 acres; and Lake Hohnel on 21 acres. 

REQUIREMENTS
Clothing
1 – Waterproof Jacket, breathable with hood 1 – Insulated Jacket, synthetic or down

  1. Day 1 Nairobi to Lake Ellis (3400m)

    Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Ellis (3400m) – 3hrs walking

    Departure from Nairobi at 8:o0 am to Mt Kenya national park, a 3 -4  hours drive.

    Lunch is served on arrival at the park. Trekking begins after lunch up to the campsite on the shores of Lake Ellis at an altitude of 3400m (3hrs walk).

    Dinner and overnight in the Camp.

  2. Day 2 Lake Ellis to Lake Michaelson (4200m)

    Breakfast at 7am then have some fishing activities at lake Ellis.

    After fishing we follow the trail as it leads up through glades of montane forest climbing away from Lake Ellis on its west side, across moorland to a ridge which eventually joins the main Chogoria trail to Lake Michaelson.

    Dinner and overnight Camping by the lake.

  3. Day 3 Lake Michaelson to Chogoria Gate

    Breakfast  served around 7.30am, with the scenic view of Mt Kenya peaks namely; Batian, Nelion and Lenana.

    After Breakfast we begin a gentle descend to Chogoria gate. Then drive back to Nairobi.
