Mau Mau caves tour – Mt Kenya day hike
Located in Naro Moru Forest at the foothills of Mt Kenya, Mau Mau caves resulted from volcanic activity that erupted million years ago then lava cooled and solidified into rock sediment.
The Caves were used by the freedom fighters in the colonial Kenya as a military base and hideout from the British soldiers. The trail to the Mau Mau caves is amazing; one goes through sparse forest up to the swaying bridge from where one can view the rapids and the waterfall over the caves.
